January 12, 2024 1st week OT
OT means ordinary time. Today’s gospel is of the paralytic being lowered down through the ceiling to Jesus because it was so crowded at the door. What friends he had to find a way to get healing for this man. What faith they had! Jesus says that his sins are forgiven. I struggle with that that an ailment means he sinned. I have many ailments. Are those attached to sin? Are all those in this world that are disabled in that way due to sin? I also think of what some say that after the second coming, we will be reunited to our bodies. I don’t want my body back. I hope it is healed and in better form when I get it back.
