January 21, 2024 3rd week OT
OT means ordinary time. Another Sunday, so we have two readings. In the first reading, God sends Jonah to Nineveh to warn the people to repent! They do repent, everyone wearing sackcloth. God decides to not punish them. Jonah does not want to be prophet, but he must have been very good at it! In the second reading, 1 Corinthians, Paul says time is running out. I feel that more every day. I hope that I am pleasing the Lord every day and I am received into His heavenly kingdom! In the gospel, the word “proclaim” is used, my word of the year. Here, Jesus is proclaiming the Gospel. He says “the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent!”
