January 26: little turtle kit
Today’s toy was a turtle kit from DIY. Bill bought it for me for Christmas but misplaced it, so I got it on Friday. It had the yarn, hook, darning needle, stuffing, stitch markers, and pattern for an adorable land turtle toy. I crocheted it in a couple of hours. I liked the color work on the shell. I did the trick that I learned from doing the gingerbread train, that you put the hook in the v of the sc instead of the top loop. It helps put the color stacked on top of the previous round instead of slightly to the right of the sc.
I added floral stones in the feet, three in the front of each leg and two in each back leg. It raised the turtle in the front. Here are the floral stones I used from Walmart.
