January 31, 2024 Memorial of Saint John Bosco, Priest
Today’s readings are difficult to respond to I guess. The first reading is about David counting the people and then God punishing him for it with three days of pestilence. I don’t understand the punishment for this sin. I’m just glad that Jesus came for my sin and that He is merciful. As the responsorial psalm says “Lord, forgive the wrong I have done” In the gospel, Jesus returns home after starting his ministry and is not received well from the people who know Him. I guess it is hard to see someone in a new light. One that was just a normal person and who is now famous and performing miracles! Jesus says they have no faith. I pray that I have faith in Him! Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God!
