Today’s crocheted toy is a butterfly. By Ana Velga, I used soft secret yarn from Hobby Lobby in violet and mist. 3 mm crochet hook The wings in the pattern called for slip stitch around the outside, but I did a slip stitch, chain 1. I prefer that edging. The eyes were done by stitching a triangle and then wrapping yarn around the sides to create a ball shape sticking out for bug eyes. I like the effect. This was a fun pattern and I will make it again.
For Valentine’s Day, I crocheted love pugs in black and cream colors for Bill, my husband. One looks like Gracie and one looks like Reacher. I used Big twist Plush in black, coconut, and chili pepper. I used pipe cleaners for the antennae. Today’s toy is a crocheted ghost. I plan on making little toys for Halloween again this year. I followed a pattern for the first one, but then changed it. Using Red heart super saver and 3 mm hook, this was super quick.
Today’s toy is a pot of crocheted succulents. Design by Lauren Espy. Using many different greens I had on hand and a 3 mm hook, this was a tedious one. I liked making the prickly parts of the large cactus. I thought about adding a flower as well. Not my favorite.

Today’s toy is a crocheted octopus. Design by Darling Maple Designs. Using Loops and Threads Sweet Snuggle Lite and a 3 mm hook, this was fun to make. It was quick and I didn’t have to stuff it or close the body. You could use it as a finger puppet.
