March 12, 2024 4th week Lent
Today’s first reading an angel shows Ezekiel the water flowing from the sanctuary. It was a healing water that will feed the trees so that they will produce fruit. In the gospel, Jesus heals a man that has been waiting to go into the healing pool of troubled water, but never seems to get to the water’s edge. I’m sure there were many people there to be healed. I would have been there. I woke up this morning at 1:30 am in so much pain. It is difficult to breathe. Jesus heal me! Jesus told the man to rise, pick up his mat and walk that he was healed. It was on a feast day on the Sabbath so the people were angry about Him doing this work and of the healed man carrying his mat. This passage is in John chapter 5. Already early in Jesus’ ministry, people want to persecute Him. I just don’t understand.
