March 27, 2024 Wednesday Holy Week
Today’s first reading is from Isaiah. This book of the Bible is hardest for me since it is prophetic. I read many commentaries and still not sure about its message. They say it is the song of the servant and that it is talking about Jesus’ suffering. The gospel is much easier to comprehend. Judas is paid 30 pieces of silver and looks for an opportunity to betray Jesus. Then the twelve are at Passover supper with Jesus and he tells Judas that he will betray him. Of course Judas denies it. As I said before, I relate more to Peter who denies knowing Jesus to the crowds who want to kill Jesus. As I always pray, Jesus, give me a contrite heart! Amen!
