March 6, 2024 3rd week Lent
Today’s readings focus on keeping the commandments that the Lord gave to Moses. Both Moses and Jesus tell the people to keep God’s commandments. You will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. If it were only that easy. The Catholic Church has the sacrament of reconciliation where a person can be forgiven of his/her sins. In preparation for reconciliation or confession, Catholics can perform an examination of conscience using the Ten Commandments. Actually there are checklists that are based on the Ten Commandments that would help in making sure you are confessing every sin that is keeping you from the Lord’s graces. It is recommended for all of us to examine our conscience every day since you never know the hour… Amen!
