April 2, 2024 Tuesday in the Octave of Easter
It’s still Easter! Amen! Alleluia! Christ is risen! In the first reading from Acts, Peter tells the people to be baptized with the Holy Spirit and 3000 were baptized that day! In the gospel, Mary Magdalene is at the tomb and sees Jesus. Of course she doesn’t recognize Him until He calls her name. Then Jesus tells her to go tell the disciples what she saw and she does. He has appeared to many women throughout history and my first thought of this was Sister Faustina. We will celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday this weekend based on her diary. I need to read that again. Pope John Paul II declared the first Sunday after Easter as Divine Mercy Sunday. “Oh blood and water, that gushed forth from the heart of Jesus, as a font of mercy for us, I trust in You.” Amen!
