May 12, 2024 Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord
It is the seventh week of Easter, but some churches celebrate the Ascension of the Lord which is actually on Thursday before. The first reading is the beginning of Acts and Luke accounts the life, death, resurrection and ascension.
The second reading “The one who descended is also the one who ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things”
In the gospel, Jesus said “Go into the whole world
and proclaim the gospel to every creature.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved;
whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Wow! I believe! Amen!
This is still the Easter season! Amen! Alleluia! Jesus is risen!
