May 18, 2024 Saturday of the Seventh Week of Easter – Mass in the Morning
Today’s first reading tells us what happened to Paul when he arrived to Rome. The Romans could find no reason to punish him, but he remained in captivity for two years. During this time he continued to preach the gospel and do the will of the Father.
In the gospel, the end of the book of John, Jesus tells Peter that He might want the disciple whom he loves to remain until He comes again. He was probably referring to John and His resurrection. He wanted someone who was trusted to record the events.
It is still the Easter season! Amen! Alleluia! Jesus is risen!
