Today’s toy is a knitted mouse, design by Jean Greenhowe. I love these mice, so when a podcaster started a “mouse” themed make along, I had to knit them. There is one for each season. I am also participating in another make along to stitch your library which means to pick a pattern from your craft books/magazines. This is from the book, Knitted Animals. Using Hobbii’s cotton 8/4 and size 2.5 mm needles, this was a joy to make.
Today’s toy is a knitted pig, but I crocheted all of the extra parts. The pig was knitted as a ball and then I crocheted four legs, a snout, ears, and a curly tail. Used Bernat velvet in quiet pink and Big Twist plush in black. I am pleased with this toy, very squishy.
Today’s toy is a knitted whale. The pattern is by Jean Greenhowe. Using Craft star acrylic yarn and size 0 needles, this is rather small. I like the construction. Maybe next time I will add wire so it can be posed.
Today’s toy is a knitted bird of happiness. Design by Sara Elizabeth Kellner. Using Knit Picks stroll in red and 2.25 mm needles, I thought I would make a red one. Love this pattern. This could be turned into a Christmas ornament with embroidery too.
Today’s knitted toy is a bear that I knitted during a two hour car ride to the coast. The pattern says to start by casting on 32 stitches (it is a free pattern). I will not do that in the future because it is closed at the end, so I will just start it like…
Today’s toy is the knitted winter mouse by Jean Greenhowe. Using Hobbii’s rainbow 8/4 cotton, Sheepjes catona, and size 2 needles, this was a joy to make. Love making toys that are Christmas themed. The thing she is holding is a package.
Today’s toy is another knitted owl from my design. Using Hobbii’s honey bunny candy, it made a much larger toy. I used 4 mm needles. I enjoy making birds. The beak was edged in white so it would be visible.
