Today’s first reading is the second time the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem and took the people to Babylon, in exile. They did leave some of the poor behind to work the land. My commentary said that the ones who made the most from what they had did the will of God.
In the gospel, Jesus comes down from the mountain and the next two chapters accounts for his miracles. The first was healing a leper so that he might return to the community. He told the leper to go and tell a priest, but no one else. Every time He tells a healed person to not tell anyone, they tell the whole world!
God is good! Come Holy Spirit!
