Today’s first reading is from Isaiah’s follower, Micah. He warned the wealthy landowners to stop oppressing the poor. At some point they will be taken into exile and lose their land.
In the gospel, the Pharasies are planning to kill Jesus because he healed on the Sabbath. Jesus leaves, but is still healing those who follow Him. My commentary says this,
”We, too, are called to live and proclaim the Gospel without compromise, but to do so without any taint of arrogance or bullying. At the same time, we need to show patience and understanding for those who are not yet ready to answer Jesus’ call.”
