In today’s first reading, Paul is still emphasizing our humility. God is the one who is powerful. We are His servants. Paul said do not have pride, but humility.
In the gospel, the disciples are taking wheat from the field on the sabbath considered “working”. They are only taking enough to eat because they are hungry. Jesus said that David would take the bread from the alter that was meant for the priests to feed his people. He said “The Son of Man is lord of the sabbath.”
