Today’s first reading is strong. Paul told the Corinthians that the one among them who is having relations with his father’s wife should be given to satan, cast out of their community. My commentary said that we should clean the flock of the church so that our proclaiming the gospel is not tainted by the evil of a few.
In the gospel, Jesus healed a man’s hand on the sabbath. The scribes and Pharisees watched to find reason to kill Him. They were so focused on the law, they didn’t see the healing power of Jesus. Let us focus on the power of Jesus. Amen!
