In today’s first reading, Paul is telling the men that circumcision is no longer necessary for God’s children. You must have faith through love, Jesus.
In the gospel, Jesus was observed by a Pharisee to not wash properly before dining. The Pharisees were adamant about the rules/laws of the Jewish faith. Jesus said “you fools” they were clean on the outside but inside they were evil. Jesus said to clean the inside and the outside will be clean.
