In today’s first reading, Paul tells the Ephesians how to love. He said wives, be subordinate to your husband. Husbands, love your wife as Christ loved the Church, willing to die for her. This reading is often chosen for weddings because Paul quotes the Old Testament to say that a man must leave his home, mother and father, and be joined with his wife.
In the gospel, Jesus is trying to relate the vastness, the beauty of heaven. He said if you had faith like a mustard seed that grew into a mighty plant or like a woman who adds yeast to the bread and it grows to three times the size. I pray my faith grows like a mustard seed. Amen!
