Today the first reading is continuing Revelation. This time talking about the 144,000 that are praising God in heaven. He actually speaks of four being on thrones. Four? Anyway, the scholars say that the number, 12, designates perfection in the Bible, so 144,000 is 12*12*1000! Just an overload of perfection in heaven. I wonder what it’s like to live without sin and evil. Must be perfect!
In the gospel we hear again about the widow who gives everything in two coins while others give from surplus. Let us all share what we have in time, talent, and treasure!
