December 15, 2024 Third Sunday of Advent
Known as Gaudete Sunday, the pink candle of the Advent wreath: https://www.catholic.com/qa/why-is-rose-used-during-advent-in-the-advent-wreath-and-vestments#

The first reading is about having joy because the Lord is coming. The prophet said sing for joy because the Lord will be among you.
In the second reading, we have one of my favorites, “The Lord is near. Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.”
In the gospel, those who followed John the Baptist wondered if he was the messiah. John said, “I am baptizing you with water, but one mightier than I is coming. I am not worthy to loosen the thongs of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
Holy Spirit guide me through Advent.
