The Nativity of the Lord (Christmas)
Mass during the Day
There are four different masses for Christmas. There is a vigil mass, a midnight mass, a mass at dawn, and a mass during the day. I either attend the mass at midnight or the one at dawn.
For the mass during the day, the first reading is Isaiah rejoicing that a king has arrived. Filled with peace and joy, Jesus will fulfill the prophesies of the Old Testament. Many call Jesus The Word made flesh and dwelt among us. Let us not forget that God has a plan for all His creation, even you and me. Merry Christmas!
In the second reading, Paul rejoices to the Hebrews that a savior was born, a son to the Father. He will reign and then will suffer for our sins. He will then be taken back up to heaven to rule at the right hand of the Father.
In the gospel, John stated again that the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. God provided His son as a ransom. John the Baptist proclaimed a savior would come after him and bring peace and salvation to the nations. Jesus was born this day and we should rejoice in Him.
HALLELUJAH! The King is born!
