December 5, 2024 Thursday of the First Week of Advent

Today’s first reading is from Isaiah and speaks of God again from the mountain top. What resonated with me was “He humbles those in high places…It is trampled underfoot by the needy, by the footsteps of the poor”

In the gospel, Jesus told a parable to say that we must have a firm foundation in our faith. A house built on rock will stand, but foolish the man who builds his house on sand. To enter the kingdom of heaven, Jesus said you have to do the will of His father.
