May 14, 2024 Feast of Saint Matthias, Apostle
Today’s first reading is of Peter naming, choosing, the 12th apostle after Judas, Matthias. I watched a commentary on this and he said what about the other one considered and not chosen. But we are all chosen by God. Jesus chose us. I am a daughter of God. Jesus knows my name.
In the gospel, John 15, Jesus said to love one another as He has loved us. He said that he calls us friends, not slaves. Jesus said “It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you
and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain,
so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.
This I command you: love one another.” Amen!
It is still the Easter season! Amen! Alleluia! Jesus is risen!
