May 17, 2024 Friday of the Seventh Week of Easter
Today’s first reading: Festus states what the accusers are saying about Paul before he goes before the Romans. He says that the Jews and Paul are arguing whether Jesus is alive, His resurrection.
In the gospel, Jesus asks Peter “Do you love me?” three times. It is similar to the three times Peter denied Jesus during His passion. When Jesus hears Peter’s answer, He says “Feed my sheep, feed my lambs, feed my sheep, follow me” He is preparing Peter to become the leader of the Church of followers of Christ. Amen!
This is still the Easter season! Amen! Alleluia! Jesus is risen!
