May 26: knitted bird
Today’s toy is a knitted owl. This design is mine. I made this one a little smaller. Using Big twist cotton and size 2 needles, this pattern is so quick. I really enjoyed the speckled yarn.

I have been crocheting and knitting many hearts this month to give to family members. I have seen on Pinterest hearts that are turned on the side and adding cat features to them. I did this for two. I also did a bunny. Today’s toy is a cat heart I am giving to my SIL,…
Today’s toy is a knitted frog head. I used the same shape as the bunny head. My sister’s birthday gift was the Honey Bunny candy yarn from Hobbii (https://hobbii.com/yarn) I used 5 mm knitting needles. The eyes were knitted on top with the existing stitches. I did not sew them on. I used scrap yarn…
Today’s toy is a knitted whale. The pattern is by Jean Greenhowe. Using Craft star acrylic yarn and size 0 needles, this is rather small. I like the construction. Maybe next time I will add wire so it can be posed.
Today’s toy is a bunny. I knitted a bulb shape, larger on the bottom tapering to the top. It is similar to a bunny I knitted earlier this month (https://craftingintx.com/2024/01/january-7-bunny/) Knitted with Mainstays chenille chunky with US 8 knitting needles (5 mm). I then thought it would be fun to add fabric to the ears…
a very whimsical bunny by Sayjai Thawornsupacharoen. I used the same yarn I have been using, the Charisma 10 ply Aran. I put pipe cleaners into the ears, but didn’t stuff them. This pattern is for crochet, but I modified it for knitting. That’s why it is shorter. I need to knit more rounds next…
Today’s toy is a knitted bird by my design. I was trying out just one strand of a thicker yarn and testing the pattern. Using Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn Prints and Big Twist yarn and size 2 needles, this came out quite nicely.
