Today’s first reading is of Elijah prophesying the drought that the Lord is sending. The Lord tells him to go east of the Jordan and He would provide food gathered by ravens. What imagery!
In the gospel , Jesus give our His commandments in the sermon on the mount, Matthew 5. All of the blessed statements, “Blessed are the poor in spirit…” I have these written on a plaque in my bathroom as a reminder of how to live and what promises are in store for me. Amen!
