In the gospel, it is a continuation of the sermon on the mount, Matthew 5. Jesus said to love your enemies and pray for your persecutors. He said Don’t the pagans love their friends? Go beyond that and love everyone. He also said, “So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Wow! Perfection? From a human? I will strive toward it.
