Today’s first reading is the punishment of the Lord for the people not following the laws of God. Babylon seized the king and deported all of the Jews out of Jerusalem. My commentary said the Jewish people probably made the best of the situation though.
In the gospel, we wrap up the sermon on the mount. Jesus said the way to heaven is to do the will of the Father. He said that if you do this, you will be like the wise man who built is house on rock, stable. If you do not do the will of the Father, you will be like the foolish man who built his house on the sand. Washed away. I pray for strength from the Holy Spirit to help me do the will of the Father! Amen!
