Today’s first reading is from the prophet Hosea. He was from northern Israel and he was betrayed by his wife, adultery. My commentary says that he writes about God’s relationship with man as a marriage. John and Paul make this reference in the New Testament. God wants his people to return to the covenant and live spiritually like they did in the desert, not looking for other gods to worship.

In today’s gospel, we see Matthew’s account of healing the woman with hemorrhages and bringing the girl back to life. This account is also in Mark’s gospel. Two miracles! Two witnesses! I’m amazed by Jesus!

Come Holy Spirit!
