July 22, 2024 Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene

We have two choices for the first reading today. Both focus on how much better it is if you know Jesus and you follow Jesus. In one of the readings, someone is searching for Jesus and finds Him after death. In the other reading, Paul said that you have died to the flesh and those worldly things when you are baptized. Now you live for Jesus.

In the gospel, Mary Magdalene sees an empty tomb and then sees Jesus, of course not knowing it is Him until He calls her name. We can recognize Jesus in the people around us. Amen!
