July 22: Christmas tree gnome
Today’s toy is a crocheted gnome. Design by Kristi Simpson. Using Scheepjes catona, Hobbii’s rainbow cotton 8/4, and a 1.5 mm hook, this was fun to make. I like the colors on the hat like Christmas tree lights.

Today’s toy is another Hoppy the bunny I designed and crocheted. I am still working on the pattern for the Huggable Heart, so I haven’t started the Hoppy pattern yet. Video is needed for Hoppy since I had different numbers for where to place the shaping of the face with different yarn. This time, I…
Today’s toy is a flamingo. By Phillip Ha. I used Hobby Lobby Yarn Bee Soft Secret in soft pink and lemon. I am enjoying using a 4 mm hook holding the yarn double. It makes a nice sized toy and I think one strand would have too much drape. This is leftover yarn from my…
Today’s toy is a crocheted walrus. This pattern is from Rico design, part of a crochet along. I used Hobbii rainbow 8/4 cotton and Mainstays cotton and a 2.5 mm hook. It was so much fun that I made a bigger one.
Today’s toy is a crocheted turtle. Design by Lauren Espy. Using Knit Picks Dishie, acrylic minis from Amazon, and a 2.5 mm hook, turtles are so fun to make. I put a floral stone in each foot. This turtle sits beside me in the living room.
Today’s toy is a crocheted chicken. Design by Sweet softies. Using Mainstays anti-pilling acrylic, Red Heart Speckle, and a 2.5 mm crochet hook, I used a swirl granny square pattern. I always forget the tail feathers. After taking pictures, I had to go back to add them. I like this pattern because you can make…
Today’s toy is a crocheted whale. Design by NaimanovaToys on Etsy. Using Bernat blanket, Mainstays cozy chenille, Premier just chenille, and a 4.5 mm hook, I decided to do the traditional colors with color changes that the pattern suggests. These whales are quite small. I might donate them to the shoebox ministry.
