August 7, 2024 Wednesday of the Eighteenth Week in Ordinary Time

In the first reading, God is speaking with Jeremiah about the state of the people of Israel. He said he would restore them and make them great again after their time spent in Babylon.
In the gospel, Jesus encountered the Canaanite woman who pleads for Him to heal her daughter from a demonic possession. He tells the disciples that he has come for the lost souls of Israel. She pleads once again for her daughter saying even the dogs get the food scraps from the owner’s table. Jesus said, “O woman, great is your faith!
Let it be done for you as you wish.” Her daughter was healed. Amen! I pray for an increase in faith every day.
