September 2, 2024 Monday of the Twenty-second Week in Ordinary Time

In today’s first reading, Paul said he brings no wisdom or eloquence to proclaiming the Good News. His humility makes his message shine. He said it showed the power of God to the people. He was there to tell them about Jesus’ death and resurrection.
In the gospel, Jesus is back home and said the the prophets before Him were not accepted at home and Him likewise. They even led Him to a high place to kill Him. He stole away though since it wasn’t time. My commentary said this:
Then comes the mission of this King:
-to bring good news to the poor,
-to proclaim release to the captives,
-recovery of sight to the blind,
-to set free those who are oppressed,
-to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
