OT means ordinary time. Joab kills Absalom in today’s first reading. Even though Absalom is trying to overthrow King David, David weeps and mourns for his son. Joab was David’s nephew.
The gospel is two stories, one of the woman who is healed after she touches the cloak of Jesus. He notices and when He finds her, he says, “Woman, your faith has saved you” While she was at the end of her rope, all was exhausted and she was suffering, why not try touching His cloak? I certainly would have done that if I were her. The second story is the healing of a little girl. Jesus brings someone back from the dead! What a miracle! Jesus tells people to just have faith! I enjoy the usccb reflections by Deacon Arthur Miller. He always says “ Lord, what are we going to do today!” Have faith in the gospel and try to live a good life.
