OT means ordinary time. The first reading is the visit of the Queen of Sheba to Solomon. She had to see with her own eyes the power and wisdom of Solomon and she states that it is the power of his God that she sees in Israel. It is so great that Solomon pours forth the wisdom of God! He takes no credit. In the gospel, Jesus tells the people that it is not the things that enter the body that are vile, but what comes from within. All the evils that man can produce from within himself… From Mark 7, “But what comes out of the man, that is what defiles him. From within the man, from his heart, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly.
All these evils come from within and they defile.” I must pray to the Holy Spirit to guide me in the correct way to live.
