February 27: elephant toy
Today’s toy is a knitted and crocheted elephant using the pattern, Elephant Baby Toy by Alexandra Fransisco. The yarn for the main part of the toy was Knit Picks Dishie in silver. The blue is Hobby Lobby Yarn Bee Soft Secret in Navy. The orange is acrylic minis I received from Amazon. These are the parts of the pattern I modified:
| 1 | first round of the trunk I used black |
| 2 | only increased to 36 on the base and then I changed to knitting in the round |
| 3 | put plastic in the bottom of the toy so it would stand |
| 4 | only the first 5 rounds of the ears and then decreased |
| 5 | 32 rounds of knitting adding in 3 rounds blue stripes 2 rounds orange |
| 6 | stitched the top 6 stitches flattened on the ears |
