Today’s first reading is from Jeremiah. He speaks of God’s vengeance on those that persecute the just one. I think he is foretelling of Jesus. In the gospel, the Pharisees are arguing if Jesus is the Christ and want to arrest Jesus due to His authority when preaching in the synagogue. Nicodemus has to intervene to calm the Pharisees and they go to their own homes. Eventually they will arrest Jesus for NOTHING! Amen!
