March 18, 2024 5th week Lent
Today’s first reading is the story of the false witness of Susanna. She was falsely accused of adultery. They found her guilty and were going to put her to death, but Daniel stepped in and found the witnesses had perjured themselves. They were put to death instead. In the gospel, a woman was accused and people were about to stone her to death, but Jesus asked the first one without sin to cast the first stone. All left. My reflection said to look within ourselves. Lent is about repentance but also mercy. Self examination is vital to keep us on the right path to salvation! Amen!
