April 17: mermaid
Today’s toy is a crocheted mermaid. It is a doll with a separate tail and three dresses. The body is small so the dresses were sewn closed on the back and slip up the doll. Using Red Heart size 3 crochet thread, Coats & Clark embroidery threads, and a 2 mm hook, it was fun to use so many colors. I put the bendy part of a drinking straw in the neck for stability. I will definitely make more of these dolls and dresses. The pattern is Little Mermaid Amigurumi by Chiara Cremon. I gave this doll to Kayla of Llama Mama Kayla YouTube channel.
