January 16, 2024 2nd week OT
OT means ordinary time. Today David is chosen by God to be king. He is a “ruddy youth”. That term makes me smile. Then the Bible says “from that day on, the Spirit of the LORD rushed upon David” Oh what a blessing to have the Spirit with you. Once baptized, the Spirit does remain with you. The gifts of the Holy Spirit from confirmation: wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. The twelve fruits of the Holy Spirit: charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, and chastity. What gifts! I am thankful to be called catholic and I am blessed to know the trinity.
