January 29, 2024 4th week OT
OT means ordinary time. Today’s readings are about faith in times of struggle. David struggles against opposition and his sin in 2Samuel, 15-16. But he remains faithful to God. The responsorial psalm is Lord, rise up and save me. I must keep faith in the Lord who can save me from my sin. In the gospel, Jesus drives the demons into the herd of swine and they run down to the sea and drown. Jesus tells the clean man to go tell his family what has happened. He then “proclaims”, again my word of the year. I also heard a podcast this morning asking for financial health and the man praying said that we ask for faith that God is with us and will take care of our needs, if you would only have faith!
