January 6: Christmas weekday
I always think of January 6th as Epiphany but this year it is January 7th. I will wait until tomorrow. Today’s readings focus on my word of the year, “proclaim”. In 1Jn, God is proclaiming about His Son, that he gave us eternal life through the Son. It also states that those who believe in Jesus, will have eternal life! In the psalm, they say He has proclaimed his word to Jacob for Israel alone, but we now have the word in our bibles around the world. The Word is also Jesus, and Jesus said he came for all sinners, which is me. In the gospel, Jesus is baptized and the dove descends on Him. I love the vision of the dove as the Holy Spirit. Again, God proclaims, “You are my beloved Son, with you I am well pleased.
