Today’s first reading tells us if the wicked change their ways, they will live. Then if the righteous turn and do evil, they will surely die. Makes sense. I guess people were afraid to die back then. The gospel is much scarier to me because Jesus said that you will burn in the fires of Gehenna. Hell is a scary place! I enjoyed the verse before the gospel today. For those of you who aren’t Catholic, we sing Alleluia before the gospel and say a verse to prepare for reading the gospel. Today’s was, “Cast away from you all the crimes you have committed, says the LORD, And make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit.” This is also from Ezekiel like the first reading. I like to reflect on getting a new heart and a new spirit that is closer to God. Amen!
