Philemon’s servant goes to Paul in prison and Paul wants him to stay, but returns him. This is in the first reading today. Paul explained that the servant is not one to be punished, but revered. That is how Philemon’s people regarded servants of that day, helpers.
In the gospel, Jesus explained that one should not focus on the return of the kingdom when He was among them. He explained that He would suffer due to their generation and they would know when the King will return. It will be obvious. Amen!
